i feel like there are not too many angles i can draw this at. so i’ve been drawing it with other things that are common, like my mouth and fingers (?). ha
Jenisa’s crown of awesome polyhedronal crystals
For Foundations class at Cornish, we did a cluster on Polyhedrons and creating something out of these shapes. Jenisa created a crow of a shape she made on her own. She originally had the concept of making starfruit shapes and forming something from there. But the ideas changed, and plans did not work out physically when made into different shapes. She came across this interesting shape and decided to form something out of them. After several different ideas, Jenisa made a crown with the pieces going into a continuous circle.
This piece had original and had a lot of good meaning behind it on accident. It came across as a piece that someone with royalty would wear, but it had this harshness to it because of the shape that it was made from. This harshness made it feel like protection as well which was interesting to think about, crown made for protection as well as showing authority and power.
I enjoyed that the crown was well constructed. The tape on the outside was a good touch and seemed decorative more than practical.
One problem I had with the crown was that it was farely large. Too large for anyone to really wear. But I guess that could be debateable considering who was wearing it or who it was made for.
